These online events are organized to provide insights into the healthcare landscape for TGD people in various regions, with initial focus areas being South Africa and Australia, as presented by esteemed healthcare providers from these countries. Designed to be inclusive and educational, these events are free to all WPATH members, while non-members may also participate for a nominal fee.

The WPATH GEI Online Foundations Course includes the following components:

1.       Pre-Recorded Didactic Sessions, which attendees can watch starting June 20th Attendees should watch all recorded presentations in preparation for the live panels.
2.       Two 2-hour Live Streamed Case Discussion Panels, which attendees will select and attend between July 8 – July 25, 2024.
3.       One 2-hour Live Q&A Panel, which attendees will select and attend between July 8 – July 25, 2024.

It's About Time: Concerns of Middle Aged and Older Transgender and Gender Diverse Individuals 
Pre-recorded Didactic Sessions Available After July 1, 2024
Live Session: Friday, July 19, 2024: 12:00pm - 2:00pm US Eastern Time

This is WPATH GEI's first course focusing on medical, biological, psychological, neuropsychological, and legal concerns of aging TGD individuals and their loved ones. The course will include 3 hours of pre-recorded videos, for attendees to view at their convenience starting July 1, and an additional 2-hour live online multidisciplinary panel (July 19). Four videoed cases will be presented in the videos and live session. Attendees will have opportunities to discuss the cases presented and to ask questions of the panelists. Myths, stereotypes, and the effects of intersectionality of ageism, ableism and transphobia will be addressed. Lastly, the potential role of these TGD middle-aged and elder individuals will be considered to help TGD youth to imagine a better future for themselves.

WPATH GEI Online Neurodiversity Workshop

Live Session: Friday, July 26, 2024: 5:00pm - 7:00pm US Eastern Time

The WPATH GEI Online Neurodiversity Workshop, led by Dr. John Strang (Children's National Hospital), is a half-day training on the intersection of neurodivergence (especially autism) and gender diversity. This workshop provides a toolkit of approaches for supporting autistic/neurodivergent gender diverse individuals including in the areas of communication/self-advocacy, executive function/goal setting, and gender discernment/affirmation. The session will emphasize strengths-based approaches and address issues related to obtaining autism and related diagnoses, prioritizing clinical supports, and establishing multidisciplinary care teams. Topics related to intersectional identities, including around neurodiversity, gender diversity, and race, will be explored. 

Live Participation: Attendees must be available to attend the live session "in-person" via Zoom on Friday, July 26, 2024 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm, and watch all required pre-recorded didactic sessions, in order to complete the WPATH GEI Online Neurodiversity Workshop. Videos will be available for viewing starting the week of July 1, 2024.

WPATH JOURNAL CLUB

WPATH's all-new virtual Journal Club! This online meeting format, featuring articles from the International Journal of Transgender Health (IJTH), will allow participants the opportunity to delve further into transgender health research topics and ask questions of the authors. In addition to earning valuable CME credits and ANCC contact hours, journal club meetings provide attendees with the valuable opportunity to interact with the experts doing cutting-edge research in transgender health.

Great news for our European online attendees regarding CME's!

The American Medical Association has determined that physicians not licensed in the US who participate in this CME activity are eligible for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

ACCME / AMA PRA Category 1 Credits carry reciprocity with EACCME member countries and most international licensing bodies for physicians, with some exceptions. Physicians should check with their country/board for eligibility.

The UEMS-EACCME and the AMA has a signed agreement of mutual recognition of CME credits between Europe and USA for live and e-learning activities. A list of active agreements can be found here https://eaccme.uems.eu/Agreements.aspx.
