In addition to Dr. Radix, the new WPATH executive committee includes President Elect Loren Schechter, MD, a plastic surgeon from Rush University, Chicago, Stephen M. Rosenthal, MD (Treasurer), a pediatric endocrinologist at UCSF, and Chris Mclachlan, MSocSc (Secretary), a clinical psychologist from South Africa. Marci L. Bowers, M.D, gynecologist and surgeon, remains on the board as Past President. "I am grateful to my WPATH colleagues for their continued dedication to advancing evidence-based gender affirming care for people around the world and I look forward to working with the Executive Committee and our Board of Directors to continue to support WPATH's mission," Dr. Radix said. "Together, we will continue to work to promote evidence-based care, education, research, public policy, and respect in transgender health." WPATH is a non-profit professional and educational organization devoted to transgender health representing regional associations around the world including USPATH and EPATH. Members include psychiatrists, surgeons, pediatricians, endocrinologists and primary care doctors from countries around the world who are experts in the medical and psychological aspects of gender affirming care. WPATH's professional, supporting and student members engage in clinical and academic research to develop evidence-based medical protocols and standards of care for transsexual, transgender, and gender-nonconforming individuals internationally.
