Membership Dues

MEMBERSHIP TYPES

Members who are current with their WPATH dues and reside in Europe are also members of EPATH. Members who are current with their WPATH dues and reside in the US are also members of USPATH.

Full professional membership is available to professionals working in disciplines such as medicine, psychology, law, social work, counseling, psychotherapy, nursing, family studies, sociology, anthropology, speech and voice therapy and sexology. Full membership costs $225 (US) per year, and carries voting privileges within the Association.

Low Income, Lower-Middle Income, Upper-Middle Income Economy Countries - Full  membership is available for a reduced fee of $70 (US) per year for individuals residing in low, lower-middle and upper-middle economy countries. For the current 2020 fiscal year, low-income economies are defined as those with a GNI per capita, calculated using the World Bank Atlas method, of $1,025 or less in 2018; lower middle-income economies are those with a GNI per capita between $1,026 and $3,995; upper middle-income economies are those with a GNI per capita between $3,996 and $12,375 - click here for 2020 fiscal year list.

Supporting membership is available to individuals who do not work in the professional disciplines listed above, but still have an interest in being an active member of the organization. Supporting membership costs $225 (US) per year, and carries no voting privileges.

Emeritus membership is for current members of the Association who have been full members of the Association for the previous three years consecutively and are fully retired, making them eligible for a reduced membership rate set currently at $150 (US). Emeritus members carry full voting privileges within the Association.*

Student members, $35 (US) per year, are individuals enrolled in a graduate program who, upon graduation, would be eligible for professional membership in the association. Areas of study include law, medicine, social work, counseling, psychology, speech and language therapy, public health, family studies, psychotherapy, marriage and family therapy, women/gender/queer studies, sexology, sociology, anthropology, linguistics, pharmacology and other academic and applied disciplines that contribute, or have the potential to contribute, to the well being of transgender individuals and to the field of transgender health.* Student members carry no voting privileges other than Student elections.

*Please note that by default;  the name, city and state/country of all members are listed in both the online member directory, viewable by members upon log in and by the the public under the "Find a Provider" listing. Members have the ability to control privacy settings on all addresses, phone and fax numbers, email addresses, and affiliations through the member profile page/edit privacy settings in your account.

**Please note that if you choose to pay for the printed IJTH journal, you will receive 4 copies of the journal, we do not mail back issues and number of issues you receive is based on your member start date/payment.

***Listservs – Members (Full, Emeritus & Student)  are welcome to request to participate in the WPATH Listserv Groups that they are members of. We currently have a Global Listerv for All Members, A US Listserv for Members residing in the US, and a Student Listerserv for All Student Members. If you wish to join a Listerv Group, please email wpath@wpath.org and request to join.
