Notable events included a joint reception and workshop with the Southern Comfort Conference and the Gay & Lesbian Medical Association, who held their respective meetings during the same weekend. Respected key note speakers addressed the WPATH membership during the welcome reception. Several highly informative educational programs were held including a pre-conference activity (a CME program) which updated healthcare providers of transgender and transexual health on the medical, social and psychological treatment of transgender individuals and a surgical summit for surgeons around the world.
